COOK/CHEF - FULL TIME
This vacancy is for the most senior position in our kitchen team. You will be hands on making everything from fresh soups, sausages, tarts, sandwiches and salads, to our own homemade sauces, chutneys, pickles, smoothies and juices. Everything is made from scratch. As senior team member you will be in charge of seasonal menu variations, ordering, stock control and food safety.
You will have the pleasure of working with the best quality local food, the best British cheese, local charcuterie and have the opportunity to learn in other sections of the business or visit other establishments for stages.
All team members must truly enjoy working with food, interacting with customers and be ready and enthusiastic to learn about our bread, pastries and the food we serve. Successful candidates will have a proven record of being hardworking and responsible in previous jobs. Ability to work under pressure is essential. Pay will be competitive and calculated depending on experience, likely in the range of £18-21k per annum. Weekend work is compulsory.

ASSISTANT MANAGER ROLE
This vacancy is the second most senior in our shop and café team. You will be hands-on, taking pride in serving customers throughout the day in the shop and/or waiting on tables. You will have experience of the kind of responsibility involved in opening and closing shop, stock taking, stock control and ordering. Attention to detail and quality control are essential parts of this role.
A keen interest in food and hospitality is essential. Café team members must enjoy interacting with customers and be enthusiastic to learn about our bread and the food we serve and communicate their knowledge with customers.
Successful candidates will have a proven record of being hardworking and responsible in previous jobs. Ability to work under pressure is essential. Managerial experience is desirable but not essential. This role involves a small amount of shift management and would be a great position for someone looking to develop their management skills in a supportive environment with experienced leadership.
We are looking for someone who would like to either begin or further their career in hospitality in a fast-paced environment with a rigorous, high standard of quality and service.
